April is Sexual Violence Prevention Month (SVPM), also known as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). UC Berkeley students, staff, and faculty, will be dedicating the month to equipping our community with information on how to prevent sexual violence, create a stronger culture of consent, and best support survivors.
UC Berkeley is dedicated to preventing and addressing sexual violence and sexual harassment (SVSH) on campus. We believe in fostering a culture that prioritizes consent and respect, and responds to and supports survivors and their allies. As part of these efforts, we are working to engage all members of the university community to create a healthy and inspiring environment where violence in any form is not tolerated.

4/6: Healing Together: A Survivors CircleA workshop for student survivors of sexual violence (Phone Call with Facilitator Required) Monday, April 6, 2026, 4-6pm In Person, Location to be shared by facilitator individually The Healing Together: A Survivors Circle is a trauma-informed space for individuals of all genders to build connection and foster empowerment. Led by Tiffany Hsiang Lin, LCSW, from Social Services, this workshop is specific to survivors who have experienced sexual violence more than 3 months ago. Survivors who experienced sexual violence in the context of an intimate partner violence relationship are eligible to join as long as the relationship is no longer active. To save your workshop spot, students can fill out this form(link is external) or call Social Services (510) 642-6074, to set up a phone call with Tiffany. This will give the student the opportunity to learn more about the workshop and decide whether it feels like a fit for what they are looking for. To refer students to the Survivor Circle, staff can reach out directly to Tiffany about students that you would like to refer, or if you have any questions about the groups. With the student's consent, we could do a warm outreach to schedule a phone call If you require an accommodation for effective communication or information about campus mobility access features in order to fully participate in this event, please contact Joanna Villegas at (510) 230-3254 or joannavillegas@berkeley.edu(link sends e-mail) with as much advance notice as possible and at least 7-10 days in advance of the event. |
