Overview of the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination

OPHD Overview

The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) oversees campus compliance with policies that prohibit discrimination and harassment for students, faculty, and staff, including those based on sex, gender, sexual orientation, race, disability, religion, and other protected categories. OPHD is sometimes referred to as the campus Title IX office, but its scope is much broader.

OPHD responds to alleged discrimination and harassment under the UC Anti-Discrimination Policy and the UC SVSH Policy by assessing reports, providing appropriate supportive measures, conducting formal and informal resolution processes, and educating the community.
