PATH to Care data trends

As shown in Figure 27, sexual assault was the most common reason for visits to the PATH to Care Center every year between 2020 and 2023, followed by relationship violence (dating and domestic violence), sexual harassment, and stalking. Clients contact PATH to Care for other concerns as well, but these four types of harm make up the majority.

While sexual assault and relationship violence were the most common reasons for seeking services from PATH to Care, it is important to note that there was a small decline in those types of cases over time, while the number of sexual harassment and stalking cases increased slightly.

Individuals who contact PATH to Care are not required to disclose their reasons for seeking help, and a confidential advocate may not know the reason for the visit. Such cases are classified as “Unknown” (excluded from Figure 27).

Between 2019-2020 and 2022-23 (2021-22 data was unavailable), sexual assault and relationship violence were the most common reasons survivors sought support from PATH. to Care. Sexual harassment and stalking increased slightly over time.
